Berlin Food Crawl

Berlin Food Crawl

Come and enjoy our Berlin Food Crawl through one of Berlin's most historically rich and culinary diverse neighborhoods in the Spandauer Vorstadt in Mitte.

Beginning in a traditional German restaurant, in fact the World's oldest still-existing brewery, where you will be introduced to a traditional southern German dish and beer as well as the differences among German foods (hint: all are hearty!). Carrying on, our guides will then take you to learn of Berlin's complex of inner-courtyard systems as well as the largest: The "Hackesche Courtyards" (Hackesche Höfe). Having gone through a massivie revival since stagnation in the days of the East, you will be lead from its 19th century roots to a modern day shop offering food, drinks, and sauces all locally produced!

Emerging from the hidden courtyards, you will head north to discuss Germany and Berlin's Turkish and Arabic culinary traditions. Learn about Turkish immigration and its influences leading to one of Germany's most famous dishes (the Döner) and Berlin's expanding Arabic food scene. As any visitor or local knows, no visit to Berlin is complete without a Currywurst and we haven't forgotten it! Was the currywurst really invented in Berlin and is there really a currywurst museum? Come on the tour and find out!

With enough savory, you can now enjoy the sweeter side of Berlin and head back to the core of the Spandauer Vorstadt, where dessert awaits. Here the wealth of history is so deep we can only leave you in the hands of our guides and their personal expertise. After we return to the meeting point, you will have plenty of time to try out the great food, drink, and shopping tips suggested by your guide or check out the nearby Museum Island, Unter den Linden, or German History Museum.

Included are:

- Beer (or soft drink) and German dish.

- Visit to Eat-Berlin and personal tour of products in store by owners.

- End at the original starting point with a small local gift from our guides!
